Privacy & Security Policies
At Rational Acoustics we respect your privacy. We do not and will not rent, trade or sell your personal or company information to any third party. Personal information collected through our web store is used only for the purpose of processing orders. From time to time we may send information to our customers regarding specials and new products. If you do not wish to receive such notifications you may inform us at any time and we will not initiate contact with you again, except in regard to a purchase or in response to a specific request from you for information.
We use secure data transmission techniques in collecting personal contact and credit card information for purchases made though our e-commerce site. The secure socket layer (SSL) used for transactions encrypts (scrambles) all of the information you enter before it is transmitted over the internet to us so that it cannot be read by any third party before it is decrypted on our end. We also exercise appropriate measures to ensure that customer data we collect is protected against unauthorized access once we receive it.
Our shopping cart system allows you the option to store your shipping and contact information in our database to facilitate and expedite your future orders through this site. You also have the option to place an order without creating a user account, in which case you will simply need to re-enter your contact and billing information each time you order from us. If you create a user account on this site you can log at any time and make changes to your personal contact information, view order status, and set up preferences for various features of this site. You can also contact us by telephone ((+1) 860 978-7828) or e-mail (email@example.com) if necessary and we will be happy to make any necessary changes to your stored information for you, or delete your account from our system entirely upon request. Please note that if you contact us directly in this regard we will take reasonable measures to verify your identity before making changes to your account or deleting it.
Rational Acoustics will do our very best to ensure that your order ships promptly and arrives on schedule. Orders for in-stock items placed during normal business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, US Eastern Time) on Monday through Friday excluding holidays, normally ship within one to two business days. Orders for received on weekends or holidays will be processed the following business day and in-stock items will normally ship within one to two business days from that date.
If you have a critical, "in-hands" date by which you need to receive any items ordered from us, we recommend that contact us directly by telephone or e-mail when you place your order and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. In the event that an item you order from us is back-ordered when we receive your order, we will make every reasonable effort to contact you immediately and give you the opportunity to revise or cancel the order.
Shipping and delivery times once an order has shipped are the responsibility of the carrier and will depend upon the type of delivery service requested for the order and other factors. Our preferred carrier is UPS and we offer several delivery options for shipping via United Parcel Service (UPS). United States Postal Service can also be arranged if necessary for domestic or APO/FPO orders only. Please note that UPS cannot ship to P.O. Boxes or APO/FPO addresses. USPS shipping is required for delivery to these types of addresses. We charge no additional handling fees beyond the cost of shipping and any applicable fees for insurance and signature confirmation/proof of delivery. Rational Acoustics offers shipping to destinations outside the U.S.A. for many of the items we sell. Items that we cannot ship to other countries due to contractual agreements with our suppliers or other constraints will be noted as such in the product descriptions on our web site. International orders may be subject to additional import duties and taxes, that are levied once the package reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance are the responsibility of the recipient. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; please contact your local customs office for further information. Additionally, when ordering from Rational Acoustics, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.
For orders shipped within the State of Connecticut, we are required to collect 6% state sales tax on the cost of merchandise and shipping.
Return & Replacement Policies
You may return new, unused items purchased from Rational Acoustics within 30 days of delivery for a refund minus a 15% restocking fee. Items should be returned in their original product packaging. Items that have been in your possession for more than 30 days after delivery, or show obvious signs of use, may not be returned.
If an item is defective upon delivery (i.e. not working right out of the box), you may return the product for a full refund or replacement. Please contact us within 7 days of delivery at sales@rationalacoustics explaining the nature of the defect and we will contact you to facilitate the return of the product and processing of a refund or replacement.
If you receive a package that shows obvious signs of shipping damage, please refuse the shipment (fi you are receiving in person), or contact us immediately upon receipt and we will facilitate the return shipment of the damaged package and a replacement shipment. Please do NOT open packages that show signs of obvious shipping damage, as this may delay the returns process with the carrier.
Refunds will only be made in the manner in which the payment was originally made. All returns will be refunded to the same credit card that was used for your purchase. Please allow 14 days for us to process the credit to your card. Once the Credit is processed it can take between 1-14 days for it to show up on your statement.
Shipping charges are NOT refundable except in the case of defective or damaged items or if the return is a result of our error. If the item is returned for any other reason, you are responsible for the return shipping costs.
Shipping & Delivery Times
Rational Acoustics offers several options for shipping via UPS. USPS shipping is also available by special arrangement, fore example to US Military APO/FPO addresses. The time in transit required for shipping and delivery varies based on distance and/or the type of delivery service you select for your order. Please note that some of the shipping choices we offer may not be available in all delivery areas and in all cases, please remember to allow one to two business days for order processing in addition to the expected time-in-transit for shipping when estimating the delivery date for you order.
For UPS domestic ground-shipped orders, shipping time in transit is typically from one to six business days, depending on your distance from our location. Please refer to the map below for approximate shipping time to your area or for a more precise estimate, you can visit the UPS web site and use their time and rate calculator tools. We also recommend that you refer to the UPS web site when estimating delivery dates for international orders, as shipping times outside the USA can vary widely based on any number of factors.
Options we offer for USPS shipping are Parcel Post, Priority Mail and Express Mail. Parcel Post shipments take from one to nine mail days (including Saturdays) from the ship date for delivery. Priority mail is typically delivered to most US locations in three mail days or less from the time it ships. Domestic Express mail normally arrives on the next mail day after the ship date. In all cases, please allow extra time for shipments to military APO/FPO addresses and note that we cannot track mail delivery to military addresses. Rational Acoustics requires proof of delivery service and insurance on all orders we ship so additional charges for these services may apply to some USPS shipping methods.
