Learnt a lesson today! Take care when connecting a audio interface that has 48v phantom power ON .....

My older MC2 MC-1250 threw a fault as soon as the system was enabled. Asked a question to Timo and he advised a phantom power blocker is required.... Take care guys...... Lucky no damage this time.....

Hi Dave

Some devices (like the Apex Intelli-x2's i have) when powered up can handle phantom but that being said i hooked up a I/O with phantom on and blew 2 outputs (probably that unit wasn't powered up when i did it.....

It also took a while to get i/o's that could handle external phantom (the Smaart i/o and RME) because i wanted to compare SIM to Smaart. SIM can't handle external phantom so SIM had to be "mother Phantom" while the other i/o's just needed to receive the 48V from SIM....
