Note About Sound Hardware

If you experience sound hardware-related problems such 
as high-frequency roll-off on one or both input channels, a
stereo input operating as monaural, or other erratic behaviour
after updating to version 4.6.2, open the Devices tab of the
Options dialog in SmaartLive by selecting Devices from the
Options and check the box labeled "Use Old Wave Format." 

Note that enabling this option will limit the available
sampling resolution for all Wave-in and Wave-out devices 
to 16-bits/sample under Windows 98SE and 2k.  This feature 
is intended to provide a work-around for sound hardware drivers
that may not fully support the use of newer Windows API calls
for accessing audio devices introduced in SmaartLive 4.6.
We also recommended that anyone experiencing problems 
of this nature contact their computer or sound hardware 
manufacturer to obtain an updated driver for the device 
or component that is exhibiting problems if an update 
is available.
