We provide training courses, hardware products/packages, and professional consulting for the specialized field of sound system measurement, analysis, and alignment. In other words: the education, tools, and expertise that further the art and science of system optimization.

  Our courses, addressing both general system alignment theory/practice as well as specific topics, are taught by a variety of veteran instructors noted for their decades of pro audio expertise and superior teaching skills.  Classes are available in multiple levels from introductory overviews to advanced level real-world practicums allowing attendees to hone their skills no matter what level they are.

  The products we offer have all been carefully selected for overall quality, value and usefulness in the system measurement and tuning process. Selection is based upon our own hands-on experience and evaluation, as well as those of trusted working audio professionals.  We won’t sell you junk and we won’t sell you stuff you don’t need.

And our website strives to be one of the most useful compendiums of system alignment support, case studies, expert advice and community chatter available.  An unofficial home for test and measurement tweaks worldwide.

Rational Acoustics was founded in 2008 by Jamie Anderson, Karen Anderson, Adam Black and Calvert Dayton.  We are all veterans of various prestigious audio companies like Meyer Sound, EAW and SIA and have a whopping 50 years of industry experience combined. We are headquartered in an old mill building (what else…) along the Quinnebaug river in scenic Putnam, Connecticut.
