Its really good to refill your sound card when you have used all the pink noise in that

It would be a much more cool gadget is it also could run on battery and had a switch with 3 different sensitivities. Then you could use it to verify a lot of things on a gig, before the mixer gets up (the very last thing you put up). You can pair it with a Rat sender, but not all input/outputs like phantom power (or what ever comes out of that). I use my iPhone with an mini jack->xlr for verifying now.

I think it originally invented, so that you could use the "cheaper" mackie etc mixers as measurement mixers and they didn't have a build in pink noise generator. It's a cool tool, but to dependent on phantom power..

    Why buy the noise stick?

    Because it's there.

"What is the use of climbing Mount Everest?" and my answer must at once be, "It is no use." There is not the slightest prospect of any gain whatsoever. Oh, we may learn a little about the behavior of the human body at high altitudes, and possibly medical men may turn our observation to some account for the purposes of aviation. But otherwise nothing will come of it. We shall not bring back a single bit of gold or silver, not a gem, nor any coal or iron. We shall not find a single foot of earth that can be planted with crops to raise food. It's no use. So, if you cannot understand that there is something in man which responds to the challenge of this mountain and goes out to meet it, that the struggle is the struggle of life itself upward and forever upward, then you won't see why we go. What we get from this adventure is just sheer joy. And joy is, after all, the end of life. We do not live to eat and make money. We eat and make money to be able to enjoy life. That is what life means and what life is for.

You must buy it. Only then will you know. Survival is not guaranteed.

have they figured if he did indeed summit or not ? Its quite a debate around these parts you know.

But will the noise stick work at -30*C is my question.

    Hey Rasmus,

Standard kit for me is APB MixSwitch and Noise Stick

= No waiting for console land to exist
= No needing console to do anything
= Testing main PA return lines
= MixSwitch input for Noise Stick (the announce mic input)
= MixSwitch iPod input for quick tunes
= MixSwitch Line input for the 'secret source'

BONUS = Letting clients listen to how good the PA sounds before a digital console is used..... (flame suit on)

I really prefer the noise stick governed by a mute button and gain knob over the internal generator - its a touchy feel thing for me

P.S> the new sticks higher sensitivity is a good thing as i regularly run out of puff on the MixSwitch gain.
