Nice! Looking forward for those updates. The IPad app that I've heard about is it on it's way, and what will it be able to do?

That's something you'll need to ask the developer Studio Six Digital, not Rational Acoustics. I'm not going to pre-empt SSD with any info that isn't already mentioned on this and other forums, but it will take advantage of the API of Smaart to provide an iPad remote for Smaart 7. Should be out pretty soon.
I just bet Calvert is going to include a synchronous log swept sine stimulus for the new IR analysis module. Don't pretend that some of us don't save everything you guys post for future blackmail:

And... an error Jamie made in a Smaart class I attended by including the following on a USB key:

:)
Out of curiosity, how would one measure impedance of say a speaker ?

Hey Sidhu,
try this... used to work with v5 maybe it'll come back in a future release?

Thanks a ton ferrit!

There's a little nifty box called VI Box, made by LinearX systems, which have the circuitry to do impedance measurements with Smaart. It also have pads to measure up to 100V and 100A, lowering them to safe input card levels.
I still use Smaart 5.4 to do that as it have the proper linear scale and calibration routine though.
I also use the VI box to measure amplifier's transfer function. As nowadays many amps have DSP, sometimes I like to measure what's actually doing. In fact, Crown's ITHDs can do All Pass filters, but have no way to show it in their (System Architect) Interface.
