How to run SmaartLive (4 or 5) on Windows 7 or Vista

Smaart versions 3, 4 and 5 will run all run on Windows 7 or Vista however it must be run with administrator permissions. Below are the steps to tell Windows 7 or Vista to always run Smaart as administrator.

1. Right click C:\Program Files\Sia SmaartLive 5\rt.exe
(Assuming default installation location)

2. Select Properties

3. Select the Compatibility tab

4. Check the "Run this program as an adminstrator" checkbox.

5. Click OK

I just got a new laptop with Vista (32 bit). Installed and followed the help with the admin stuff...it works even with my Tascam 144.
Problem is when I launch the Smaart it gives me me 30 - 40 pop up boxes that say cannot register "blank". "blank is a variety of things including dll's for external devices etc...Hope this is enough detail. I could go through and copy everyone of them if I need to.
Once you click OK a whole lot of times the program opens.

Hey all,

Once you have a pic to go from the demo to the registered version of SMAART you may have to click Run as Administrator again, which solved all of these problems.

Hi i have a license of smart 5.2, and i just get a new computer with windows 7 Operating system, after i installed it i got a message saying fatal error machNM1, and a lot of pop ops saying that extenal devices dll are not compatible with this smart vertion, can any body guide me in how to intall the software into windows 7.
