Smaart v8.3 Beta Rev 5683 is now available for download. This update includes Gain Tracking for the Roland OCTA-CAPTURE (please see Beta Readme for warnings), Client Window feature additions, Frequency-domain Time Windowing smoothing function, and many bug fixes.

For those of you already running the Beta build, you can update to the latest version using the built-in program updater by clicking File -> Check For Updates... within Smaart.

If you haven't installed the Beta in the past, you can download the installer from the "Downloads" page within your account at my.rationalacoustics.com.

The Beta Readme has been updated to include information about the new features and bug fixes, you can view it by clicking Help -> Beta Readme within Smaart or clicking the link below.

Release Notes

• Added “Gain Tracking” feature that detects changes in the gain of OCTA-CAPTURE™ inputs and automatically adjusts the input calibration. See Beta Readme regarding accuracy

• Client Window improvements

o New WebSocket-based API

o Added Live IR support

o Added Signal Generator signal type selection

o Added Level Meters to individual measurement controls

o Live Averages are now available in the Client Window

o Added measurement stream throttling options (in API Options)

o Fixed numerous crashes

• Added Frequency-domain Time Windowing (FTW)

• Added support for using MTW with devices running at 96k sample rate

• Fixed a bug in Windows build where Generator would fail to output audio if using the same pair of channels as a running measurement

• Fixed bugs related to the on-screen keyboard appearing in Windows when text fields have focus

• Fixed a bug where the Command Bar would lose all of its buttons

• Fixed a bug where the Live IR trace would disappear

• Fixed a bug that would cause Smaart to freeze momentarily

My Smaart Beta Version , doesn't work the loop signal generator to reference channel !!!

Does the standard/release version work for you with the same setup on the same computer?

Will the "New WebSocket-based API" make it possible to use an iPad as remote device via a browser?? This would be the best feature :)

The new API would certainly make it easier to make a browser app, but we do not have it on our dev timeline for the near future.
